FEBRUARY 2023
Love is not automatic. It takes conscious practice and awareness, just like playing the piano or golf. However,
you have ample opportunities to practice. Everyone you meet can be your practice session. ~ Sara Paddison
14 VALENTINE'S DAY - On this date that celebrates love, just know that you are loved MORE than you will ever know!
17 YOUTH RALLY: “ALL IN” Youth in grades 6 to 12 are invited to Calvary Church on Ireland Rd, Simcoe. Doors open at 6:30pm. Rally starts at 7:00pm. Guest Speaker is Colin Maltby. Master’s College & Seminary is leading worship. Sponsored in part by Youth Unlimited, YFC Norfolk.
19 MOVIE “LIVING” at 6pm at The Strand Movie Theatre, downtown Simcoe. This film is a remake of the 1952 film “Ikiru” by Akira Kurosawa and is written by Nobel and Booker Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro. Bill Nighy stars as a British bureaucrat who questions his entire life after receiving a terminal diagnosis. Nighy's understated lead performance melds with the perfectly constructed sense of time and place to produce a fitting film tribute to the classic original. The questions Nighy asks are the thorny, challenging questions we all must contemplate: Did I accomplish anything? Will I leave anything behind? What will be my legacy? Click here for movie trailer.
27 SAFE, a documentary by John Butler that explores homelessness and the housing and opioid crises through the stories of tenants that live at Indwell. If you're curious about Indwell's work and real, hope-filled solutions to homelessness and the housing crisis, this is the documentary for you. Safe is playing at The Strand Theatre in Simcoe at 7 pm, on Monday, February 27th and the documentary will be followed by a Q&A with Indwell staff.
